Question:
Can you use this if there is salt already in your pond?
Answer: No, drain the pond before using on a 3 day cycle. After draining, refill and add salt. -

What is the expiration date?
Answer: The expiration date is shown in the small white square on the bottle that contains the barcode. -
Question:
Should UV light in pond filter be turned off when using this medication?
Answer: No, the Directions for Use do not state that UV needs to be shut off. It is important not to bypass biological filtration. Remove carbon filtration and do not use with any other treatments. Contact Microbe-lift for further questions. -
Question:
After the treatment, when can I put the filter back?
Answer: If you have activated carbon or activated charcoal in your filtration, remove it before treating. After treatment, you can return the carbon to its place. BSDT does not threaten particle or biological filtration. Only remove carbon as recommended on the label. -
Question:
Dosing instructions?
Answer: The instructions are clearly stated on the bottle. Water change is imperative. -
Question:
Will the medicated water kill grass/trees when you drain the pond water onto the ground?
Answer: It will not kill trees, and it has not killed grass for others. -
Question:
Will API stress coat interfere with the medication?
Answer: This is a 3-4 day treatment. The pond should be drained before and after as indicated in the instructions. Do not add any salt when using this product, but do add salt after treatment when adding fresh water. -
Question:
Is this a daily treatment? Or once and done?
Answer: It is both a cure and a preventative treatment. Use it in the spring when opening the pond and again in the fall, or as needed if you see any sores. -
Question:
How long do these chemicals, colored and uncolored, take to go away?
Answer: After each dose, it usually clears up in about 1 hour.
