Product Details
- Product Description In 2011, our esteemed founder, Dr. Ben Z, then a researcher at UPenn, embarked on a journey to assist his color-deficient best friend in finding a solution. Witnessing the transformative impact of the colorblind glasses he designed, Dr. Ben Z was inspired to establish Pilestone. Since then, with branches spanning the globe, we have had the privilege of enriching over 30,000 lives with the gift of color. Understand Color Vision Deficiency: Color Vision Deficiency is NOT a uniform disease. Colorblindness is caused by mutations in the color-sensing transmembrane proteins located on the cone cells in your retina. This mutation might occur in different cone cells, or in different amino acid residues in a protein of the same cone cells. In other words, the disabled spectrum windows and the severance may be totally different from person to person. With all these said, please kindly spend some time selecting the lens by taking the FREE colorblind test on Pilestone Official Website by yourself or with your eye doctor. How Pilestone Glasses Work Filtering Specific Wavelengths: People affected by color vision deficiency often have difficulty distinguishing between certain colors because their eyes have trouble differentiating between specific wavelengths of light. Pilestone colorblind glasses utilize special optical filters that selectively filter out certain wavelengths of light. These filters function by blocking or attenuating the wavelengths that contribute to confusion between colors, thereby enabling the wearer to perceive a more distinct contrast between colors. Tips for Better Experiences Wear for 4-5 hours daily in well-lit indoor and outdoor environments for one week to fully adapt to your enhanced vision. Consistent wear yields optimal results, improving your vision progressively. While taking the colorblind test with the glasses offers a quick assessment, please be mindful that its accuracy can be influenced by factors such as room lighting and computer screen settings. The most reliable gauge of performance lies in correctly identifying colors in real-life scenarios. Please understand that color deficiency varies among individuals. While our glasses are meticulously crafted to address common conditions, individual experiences may vary. There's a 10-15% chance the glasses do not improve your vision at all, even if you pick the lens type suggested by our free online colorblind test. Your understanding is appreciated.
