Tera 2D QR Embedded Barcode Scanner Fixed Mount Scanning Module Auto Sensing Scanning 1D Mini Bar Code Reader for Self-Service Kiosks Access Control

The Tera 2D QR Embedded Barcode Scanner is designed for versatility and efficiency, making it a suitable choice for self-service kiosks, access control, and various forms of industrial automation. Customers often praise its ease of setup and operation, primarily due to its USB connectivity, which allows it to function like a keyboard when scanning codes into applications such as Notepad and Excel. Many users report that the scanner performs admirably, successfully reading a variety of barcodes, including QR codes and Data Matrix codes, from different angles and at a commendable speed. However, the product is not without its issues. Some users have expressed frustration regarding the scanner's compatibility with different keyboard layouts, particularly when scanning JSON data due to unexpected outputs caused by the US keyboard setting. Although the scanner features a set of essential configuration options, there have been reports of unusual behavior when scanning data into applications like Notepad, with data sometimes only partially transmitting unless the enter key is pressed multiple times. The build quality of the scanner has raised concerns among customers. While it is compact and well-suited for permanent installation at a workstation or kiosk, the reliance on a plastic window cover instead of more durable materials has led to doubts about longevity and resistance to scratches, which can affect performance over time. Moreover, while the scanner’s price point appears reasonable, some users feel that it could be better matched with a more robust handheld scanner option available from Tera. In conclusion, the Tera 2D QR Scanner offers a generally reliable and efficient scanning experience, making it a solid choice for businesses looking to integrate a barcode scanner into their operations. However, potential buyers should weigh the Pros and Cons regarding build quality, keyboard layout limitations, and occasional software compatibility quirks. **
